Rachel Workman: 23 “Then if anyone tells you, ‘Look, here is the Messiah,’ or ‘There he is,’ don’t believe it. 24 For false messiahs and false prophets will rise up and perform great signs and wonders so as to deceive, if possible, even God’s chosen ones. 25 See, I have warned you about this ahead of time.
26 “So if someone tells you, ‘Look, the Messiah is out in the desert,’ don’t bother to go and look. Or, ‘Look, he is hiding here,’ don’t believe it! 27 For as the lightning flashes in the east and shines to the west, so it will be when the Son of Man[e] comes. 28 Just as the gathering of vultures shows there is a carcass nearby, so these signs indicate that the end is near.[f]
29 “Immediately after the anguish of those days,
the sun will be darkened,
the moon will give no light,
the stars will fall from the sky,
and the powers in the heavens will be shaken.[g]
30 And then at last, the sign that the Son of Man is coming will appear in the heavens, and there will be deep mourning among all the peoples of the earth. And they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.[h] 31 And he will send out his angels with the mighty blast of a trumpet, and they will gather his chosen ones from all over the world[i]—from the farthest ends of the earth and heaven.
There will be no mistaking the returning of Christ. Only one person can control the earth and moon. He is the only being I know that can tell the moon not to shine and it will obey. I do find verse 30 interesting. There will be deep mourning among all the peoples of the earth. I can't imagine there being deep mourning at the return of Christ but I would think we will mourn for those who are being left behind in that moment. I do love verse 31 and they will gather his chosen ones from all over the world. We are God's chosen people and we don't recognize that enough.

John
Burnett: 23 Then if anyone says to you, ‘Behold,
here is the [a]Christ,’ or ‘[b]There He is,’ do not
believe him. 24 For false Christs and false prophets
will arise and will [c]show great [d]signs and wonders, so as to
mislead, if possible, even the [e]elect. 25 Behold,
I have told you in advance. 26 So if they say to you, ‘Behold,
He is in the wilderness,’ do not go out, or, ‘Behold, He is in the inner
rooms,’ do not believe them. 27 For just as the
lightning comes from the east and flashes even to the west, so will the coming
of the Son of Man be. 28 Wherever the corpse is, there the [f]vultures will gather. Ever since I started studying prophesy and especially Matthew
24, every time I see a vulture I remember that my Savior is returning.
Seems like in the last few years there has been a population explosion of
vultures and crows. It may be just me paying more attention to them
because of verse 28.
The Glorious Return
29 “But
immediately after the tribulation of those days the
sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from [g]the sky, and the powers of [h]the heavens will be shaken. 30 And
then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and then all the tribes
of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son
of Man coming on the clouds of the sky with power and great glory. 31 And
He will send forth His angels with a
great trumpet and they will gather
together His [i]elect from the four winds,
from one end of the sky to the other. His return
will be unmistakable. When Jesus Christ returns those saints who already
passed or were raptured will get to see it because we get to return with Him
and participate in the judging of the ungodly.
