Rachel Workman: 5 “Be
dressed for service and keep your lamps burning, 36 as though you were waiting for your master
to return from the wedding feast. Then you will be ready to open the door and
let him in the moment he arrives and knocks. 37 The servants who are ready and waiting for
his return will be rewarded. I tell you the truth, he himself will seat them,
put on an apron, and serve them as they sit and eat! 38 He may come in the middle of the night or
just before dawn.[d]
But whenever he comes, he will reward the servants who are ready.
In a second our lives can be over with no warning. We may all be ready but if you're reading this and you aren't I suggest you stop what you're doing and get ready. Believe, Confess and Repent. Some decisions can be postponed but this one can not. Are you dressed in the armor of God? Are a lamp at his feet? If not fix it right now. It’s the only thing in your life that really matters.

John Burnett: 35 “Be dressed for service and keep your
lamps burning, 36 as though you were waiting for your master to
return from the wedding feast. Then you will be ready to open the door and let
him in the moment he arrives and knocks. 37 The servants who
are ready and waiting for his return will be rewarded. I tell you the truth, he
himself will seat them, put on an apron, and serve them as they sit and eat! 38 He
may come in the middle of the night or just before dawn. But whenever he comes, he will
reward the servants who are ready. We will be
rewarded for being ready for His return. What a great promise Jesus gives
here in these verses.
In
Mathew 24:4-14 Jesus describes what will be happening right before He
returns. If you read or listen to the news, these thing are going on
today as I type this. It doesn’t take long after the birth pangs for the
baby to come so as Luke 12: 35-38 states, we should be ready for Jesus to come
and get His Bride, the Church, before all of the things listed below take
place. Come quickly Lord Jesus.
Mathew
24:4-14 4 And Jesus answered and said to them, “See to it that no one
misleads you. 5 For many will come in My name,
saying, ‘I am the [c]Christ,’ and will mislead many. 6 You
will be hearing of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not
frightened, for those things must take place, but that is
not yet the end. 7 For nation will rise
against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and in various places there will
be famines and earthquakes. 8 But all these
things are merely the beginning of birth pangs.
9 “Then they will deliver you to tribulation, and will
kill you, and you will be hated by all nations because of My name. 10 At
that time many will [d]fall away and will [e]betray one another and hate one
another. 11 Many false prophets will arise and
will mislead many. 12 Because lawlessness is
increased, [f]most people’s love will grow
cold. 13 But the one who endures to the end, he
will be saved. 14 This gospel of the
kingdom shall be preached in the whole [g]world as a testimony to all the
nations, and then the end will come.

Monday’s reading for Luke 12:39-40
39 “Understand this: If a homeowner knew
exactly when a burglar was coming, he would not permit his house to be broken
into. 40 You also must be ready all the time, for the Son of
Man will come when least expected.”
