Luke 17:22-25

John Burnett:  22 And He said to the disciples, “The days will come when you will long to see one of the days of the Son of Man, and you will not see it. 23 They will say to you, ‘Look there! Look here!’ Do not go away, and do not run after them24 For just like the lightning, when it flashes out of one part [c]of the sky, shines to the other part [d]of the sky, so will the Son of Man be in His day. 25 But first He must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation.  Before Christ’s return, the antichrist and false prophet will be performing all kinds of miracles to fool those left behind into worshiping him.  Like lightening, Christ will be seen coming from the sky shining like nothing we have ever seen.  He has already suffered the worst death possible and paid our penalty on the cross and He is currently being rejected by this generation.  I know I long to see the Son of Man and pray come quickly Lord Jesus.

Monday’s reading for Luke 17:26-29

26 “When the Son of Man returns, it will be like it was in Noah’s day. 27 In those days, the people enjoyed banquets and parties and weddings right up to the time Noah entered his boat and the flood came and destroyed them all.
28 “And the world will be as it was in the days of Lot. People went about their daily business—eating and drinking, buying and selling, farming and building— 29 until the morning Lot left Sodom. Then fire and burning sulfur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all.
