Matthew 4:24-25 12:15-16, Mark 3:7-12, Luke 6:17-19 (Jesus heals multitudes by the sea)

Rachel Workman:
Matthew
Mark
Luke
John
24 News about him spread as far as Syria, and people soon began bringing to him all who were sick. And whatever their sickness or disease, or if they were demon possessed or epileptic or paralyzed—he healed them all. 25 Large crowds followed him wherever he went—people from Galilee, the Ten Towns,[h] Jerusalem, from all over Judea, and from east of the Jordan River.

15 But Jesus knew what they were planning. So he left that area, and many people followed him. He healed all the sick among them, 16 but he warned them not to reveal who he was.

7 Jesus went out to the lake with his disciples, and a large crowd followed him. They came from all over Galilee, Judea, 8 Jerusalem, Idumea, from east of the Jordan River, and even from as far north as Tyre and Sidon. The news about his miracles had spread far and wide, and vast numbers of people came to see him.
9 Jesus instructed his disciples to have a boat ready so the crowd would not crush him. 10 He had healed many people that day, so all the sick people eagerly pushed forward to touch him. 11 And whenever those possessed by evil[a] spirits caught sight of him, the spirits would throw them to the ground in front of him shrieking, “You are the Son of God!” 12 But Jesus sternly commanded the spirits not to reveal who he was. Seriously even the demons know who Jesus is.
17 When they came down from the mountain, the disciples stood with Jesus on a large, level area, surrounded by many of his followers and by the crowds. There were people from all over Judea and from Jerusalem and from as far north as the seacoasts of Tyre and Sidon. 18 They had come to hear him and to be healed of their diseases; and those troubled by evil[b] spirits were healed. 19 Everyone tried to touch him, because healing power went out from him, and he healed everyone. To stop for a minute and really think about this. Healing power went out from him. He radiated healing powers. Just a touch from Jesus and they were healed. Seems like old news for us but it's still amazing. We don't know how many people but enough that Jesus was concerned about being crushed. Wow. Just imagine that crowd!

I can imagine the scene looked kinda like a Benny Hinn Healing meeting.  The difference is that Jesus was actually healing people.  Did these people deserve to be healed?  No, just like we are not deserving of the grace that Jesus shows us.

15 But Jesus knew what they were planning. So he left that area, and many people followed him. He healed all the sick among them, 16 but he warned them not to reveal who he was.
Jesus didn’t want the people to spread His fame which appears to have already been a problem (Mat 4:24) and which had caused Him not to be able to move about freely (Mark 1:45) seems to be a relevant reason. Jesus had had to rely on the people coming to Him rather than on going out to meet them where they were and He was therefore unable to reach the people who wouldn’t have ever been able to leave behind them their profession to travel however many miles it took to catch up with Him.

Jesus’ approach to his ministry is counter-intuitive to conventional wisdom. He did not go looking for fame. He did not seek self-promotion. His singular drive was to glorify his Father through a life of service that ended on a cross.
Until now, those coming to hear Jesus, who is in Capernaum (Mark 2:1), were from a relatively local geographic area, presumably in and near to Capernaum (Galilee), maybe with the exception of some of the scribes and Pharisees who probably came up from Jerusalem.  Now we see that people from beyond that local area are traveling to Him, but it seems only to receive the physical healing of which they had undoubtedly heard.
The Sermon on the Plain may be Luke’s account of the same occasion and teaching recorded in Matthew 5-7 called, The Sermon on the Mount, or it may simply be a similar teaching given on a different occasion. Some elements are virtually identical whereas others are totally different. This Sermon contains a little more than a fourth of the content of the other and has woes that are not included in the Sermon on the Mount.
Those who were demonized, as well as those who had other illnesses, were all healed. And Jesus attributes the healing to the “power that went out from Him,” that is, Jesus.
