Rachel Workman: Sin whispers to the wicked, deep within their hearts.
They have no fear of God at all.
2 In their blind conceit,
they cannot see how wicked they really are.
3 Everything they say is crooked and deceitful.
They refuse to act wisely or do good.
4 They lie awake at night, hatching sinful plots.
Their actions are never good.
They make no attempt to turn from evil.
Sin whispers to more than just the wicked. I
love how it stated the wicked are blind and don't see how wicked they are. I've
met people like that. They believe nothing they do is wrong. I'm grateful I'm
not that person. They will receive judgment and I'll receive grace.
5 Your unfailing love, O Lord, is as vast as the heavens;
your faithfulness reaches beyond the clouds.
6 Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains,
your justice like the ocean depths.
You care for people and animals alike, O Lord.
7 How precious is your unfailing love, O God!
All humanity finds shelter
in the shadow of your wings.
8 You feed them from the abundance of your own house,
letting them drink from your river of delights.
9 For you are the fountain of life,
the light by which we see.
I love these verses, unfailing love,
faithfulness, righteousness, justice, precious, those words stand out to me.
But this verse really stands out. You care for people and animals alike. Those
are scary words for a lot of people. God cares for the animals that we neglect
and abuse. Animals are cared for by him and they matter. And our treatment of
them matters to God.
10 Pour out your unfailing love on those who love you;
give justice to those with honest hearts.
11 Don’t let the proud trample me
or the wicked push me around.
12 Look! Those who do evil have fallen!
They are thrown down, never to rise again.

John
Burnett: 36 Transgression speaks to the
ungodly within [a]his
heart;
There is no fear of God before his eyes.
2 For [b]it flatters him in his own eyes
Concerning the discovery of his iniquity and the hatred of it.
3 The words of his mouth are wickedness and deceit;
He has ceased to [c]be wise and to do good.
4 He plans wickedness upon his bed;
He sets himself on a path that is not good;
He does not despise evil.
There is no fear of God before his eyes.
2 For [b]it flatters him in his own eyes
Concerning the discovery of his iniquity and the hatred of it.
3 The words of his mouth are wickedness and deceit;

5 Your lovingkindness, O Lord, [d]extends
to the heavens,
Your faithfulness reaches to the skies.
6 Your righteousness is like the [e]mountains of God;
Your judgments are like a great deep.
O Lord, You preserve man and beast.
7 How precious is Your lovingkindness, O God!
And the children of men take refuge in the shadow of Your wings.
8 They drink their fill of the [f]abundance of Your house;
And You give them to drink of the river of Your delights.
9 For with You is the fountain of life;
In Your light we see light.
Your faithfulness reaches to the skies.
6 Your righteousness is like the [e]mountains of God;
Your judgments are like a great deep.
O Lord, You preserve man and beast.
7 How precious is Your lovingkindness, O God!
And the children of men take refuge in the shadow of Your wings.
8 They drink their fill of the [f]abundance of Your house;
And You give them to drink of the river of Your delights.
9 For with You is the fountain of life;
In Your light we see light.
10 O continue Your lovingkindness to
those who know You,
And Your righteousness to the upright in heart.
11 Let not the foot of pride come upon me, The foot of pride is on the neck of most of the men on this planet. It holds them in a sin cycle because they think they deserve whatever they want in the form of pleasures of the flesh. It was this way for David as well when it came to Bathsheba. David was probably thinking something like this, “I am king and I want her therefore I will have her by any means necessary.”
And let not the hand of the wicked drive me away.
12 There the doers of iniquity have fallen;
They have been thrust down and cannot rise.
And Your righteousness to the upright in heart.
