Proverbs 7:1-5

Rachel Workman: My son, keep my words
    and store up my commands within you. Imagine the world we would be living in if everyone did this.
Keep my commands and you will live;
    guard my teachings as the apple of your eye. Every day we are faced with decisions. But this decision is the decision that decides if we live or die.
Bind them on your fingers;
    write them on the tablet of your heart.
Say to wisdom, “You are my sister,”
    and to insight, “You are my relative.”
They will keep you from the adulterous woman,
    from the wayward woman with her seductive words.

John Burnett:  My son, keep my words
And treasure my commandments within you.
Keep my commandments and live,

And my [a]teaching as the [b]apple of your eye.
Bind them on your fingers;
Write them on the tablet of your heart.  We are to read and memorize God's Word.  This is one of the areas I struggle with.
Say to wisdom, “You are my sister,”
And call understanding your intimate friend;  God opens our eyes to the scriptures and provides us understanding.  We are to consider this understanding as our closest friend.
That they may keep you from an [c]adulteress,
From the foreigner who [d]flatters with her words.  In today's world, pornography is the adultress that flatters with her words and is the cheese that traps many men into a life of sin.

Monday’s reading for Galatians 1:1-5

This letter is from Paul, an apostle. I was not appointed by any group of people or any human authority, but by Jesus Christ himself and by God the Father, who raised Jesus from the dead.

All the brothers and sisters[a] here join me in sending this letter to the churches of Galatia.

May God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ[b] give you grace and peace. Jesus gave his life for our sins, just as God our Father planned, in order to rescue us from this evil world in which we live. All glory to God forever and ever! Amen.
