Galatians 6:1-5

Rachel Workman: Dear brothers and sisters, if another believer[a] is overcome by some sin, you who are godly[b] should gently and humbly help that person back onto the right path. And be careful not to fall into the same temptation yourself. Share each other’s burdens, and in this way obey the law of Christ. If you think you are too important to help someone, you are only fooling yourself. You are not that important. It's really hard to tell someone else when they are sinning when you yourself are a sinner.

Pay careful attention to your own work, for then you will get the satisfaction of a job well done, and you won’t need to compare yourself to anyone else. For we are each responsible for our own conduct. I think this is good advice in every way.

John Burnett:  Brothers and sisters, even if a person is caught in any wrongdoing, you who are spiritual are to restore such a person in a spirit of gentleness; each one looking to yourself so that you are not tempted as well. Bear one another’s burdens, and thereby fulfill the law of Christ.   When we love our neighbors as ourselves, fulfilling the law of Christ, we naturally want to bear the burdens of those we love.  For if anyone thinks that he is something when he is nothing, he deceives himself.  The Bible says we are totally depraved and dead in our sins.  When a person thinks they are a good person they are deceiving themselves.  Romans 3 says there is no one good, this is why we need Jesus and His righteousness imputed to our account  But each one must examine his own work, and then he will have a reason for boasting, but [a]to himself alone, and not [b]to another. For each one will bear his own load.

Monday’s reading for Galatians 6:6-10

Those who are taught the word of God should provide for their teachers, sharing all good things with them.

Don’t be misled—you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant. Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful nature will harvest decay and death from that sinful nature. But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit. So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up. 10 Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone—especially to those in the family of faith.
