2 Thessalonians 1:11-12

Rachel Workman: 11 So we keep on praying for you, asking our God to enable you to live a life worthy of his call. May he give you the power to accomplish all the good things your faith prompts you to do. 12 Then the name of our Lord Jesus will be honored because of the way you live, and you will be honored along with him. This is all made possible because of the grace of our God and Lord, Jesus Christ.

I guess my question is am I living a life that honors God? I could probably write a book on the ways I am not.

John Burnett:  11 To this end also we pray for you always, that our God will consider you worthy of your calling, and fulfill every desire for goodness and the work of faith with power, 12 so that the name of our Lord Jesus will be glorified in you, and you in Him, in accordance with the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.  Paul's wish for the Thessalonians is so heartfelt and should be our wish for everyone we know who are believers.  When we are born again, we become a new creation and we strive to live life according to God's commandments so that we will be thought of by HIm as worthy.  First, we have to realize that we are not worthy and it is only in accordance with God's grace, that He chooses to open our eyes to our sin to show us how sinful we really are and how bad we really need His forgiveness.  When we are born again and forgiven, we will also be glorified with him and through him and there is no better position to be in.

Tomorrow’s reading for 2 Thessalonians 2:1-4

Now, dear brothers and sisters,[a] let us clarify some things about the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and how we will be gathered to meet him. Don’t be so easily shaken or alarmed by those who say that the day of the Lord has already begun. Don’t believe them, even if they claim to have had a spiritual vision, a revelation, or a letter supposedly from us. Don’t be fooled by what they say. For that day will not come until there is a great rebellion against God and the man of lawlessness[b] is revealed—the one who brings destruction.[c] He will exalt himself and defy everything that people call god and every object of worship. He will even sit in the temple of God, claiming that he himself is God.
