Rachel Workman: 9 This man will come to do the work of Satan with counterfeit power and signs and miracles. 10 He will use every kind of evil deception to fool those on their way to destruction, because they refuse to love and accept the truth that would save them. 11 So God will cause them to be greatly deceived, and they will believe these lies. 12 Then they will be condemned for enjoying evil rather than believing the truth.
Thank you Lord for the Holy Spirit that resides in me, telling me what is true. Nothing on this earth would be worse than being the person these verses are talking about.

John Burnett: 9 that is, the one whose coming is in accord with the activity of Satan, with all power and false signs and wonders, 10 and with all the deception of wickedness for those who perish, because they did not accept the love of the truth so as to be saved. 11 For this reason God will send upon them a deluding influence so that they will believe what is false, 12 in order that they all may be judged who did not believe the truth, but took pleasure in wickedness. The one coming in verse 9 is the Antichrist and he will deceive many with his false signs and wonders. Those who follow him love their sin more than they love the truth thus they will perish. Because they did not love the truth (Jesus, the way, the truth, and the life) God sends a deluding influence over them so that all they can believe is the lies of the Antichrist and their fate is sealed. They will receive God's wrath because they took pleasure in wickedness instead of believing the truth. The false teaching of Universalism, that God loves everyone and forgives everyone, is debunked here as He condemns those who love wickedness and sends a deluding influence so that they cannot repent and believe.

Tomorrow’s reading for 2 Thessalonians 3:1-5
3 Finally, dear brothers and sisters,[a] we ask you to pray for us. Pray that the Lord’s message will spread rapidly and be honored wherever it goes, just as when it came to you. 2 Pray, too, that we will be rescued from wicked and evil people, for not everyone is a believer. 3 But the Lord is faithful; he will strengthen you and guard you from the evil one.[b] 4 And we are confident in the Lord that you are doing and will continue to do the things we commanded you. 5 May the Lord lead your hearts into a full understanding and expression of the love of God and the patient endurance that comes from Christ.
