2 Suddenly there was a great earthquake! For an angel of the Lord came down from heaven, rolled aside the stone, and sat on it. 3 His face shone like lightning, and his clothing was as white as snow. 4 The guards shook with fear when they saw him, and they fell into a dead faint.
5 Then the angel spoke to the women. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I know you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. 6 He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead, just as he said would happen. Come, see where his body was lying. 7 And now, go quickly and tell his disciples that he has risen from the dead, and he is going ahead of you to Galilee. You will see him there. Remember what I have told you.”
8 The women ran quickly from the tomb. They were very frightened but also filled with great joy, and they rushed to give the disciples the angel’s message. 9 And as they went, Jesus met them and greeted them. And they ran to him, grasped his feet, and worshiped him. 10 Then Jesus said to them, “Don’t be afraid! Go tell my brothers to leave for Galilee, and they will see me there.”
This was a beautiful reading. It leaves me speechless really. Everything we read up until now has been about making a way and suffering. Now is the beauty of Christ's sacrifice. God was faithful and Jesus was obedient and we now have complete forgiveness. Everything in Chris is complete.

have been unbelievable to overcome but Jesus overcame the sins of the
entire world. The resurrection is proof that Jesus’s sacrifice was
sufficient to pay for all sin and that God the Father had accepted it as
payment for our sins. The world demonizes Christianity as hostile
toward women and during Jesus’s time on earth, women were considered
second class citizens. I find it interesting that Jesus chose to appear
to the two Marys before anyone else and of course the promise of
equality in heaven as co-heirs and rulers with Christ. As husbands, we
are to love our wives as Christ loves the church. That means we are to
sacrifice our needs and wants to fulfill her needs. Another prophesy is
fulfilled in these verses which means we can trust with even more
confidence, that what the Bible says is true and will happen. This
includes His second coming and I am having a hard time waiting. Come
quickly Lord Jesus.
8 And they left the tomb quickly with fear and great joy and ran to report it to His disciples. 9 And behold, Jesus met them [b]and greeted them. And they came up and took hold of His feet and worshiped Him. 10 Then Jesus *said to them, “[c]Do not be afraid; go and take word to My brethren to leave for Galilee, and there they will see Me.”

Jesus’ resurrection is the key to the Christian faith.
Why? (1) Just as he promised, Jesus rose from the dead. We can be
confident, therefore, that he will accomplish all he has promised. (2)
Jesus’ bodily resurrection shows us that the living Christ is ruler of
God’s eternal kingdom, not a false prophet or imposter.
(3) We can be certain of our resurrection because he was resurrected.
Death is not the end—there is future life. (4) The power that brought
Jesus back to life is available to us to bring our spiritually dead
selves back to life. (5) The resurrection is the
basis for the church’s
witness to the world. Jesus is more than just a human leader; he is the Son of God.
7 Then
go quickly and tell his disciples: ‘He has risen from the dead and is
going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.’ Now I have
told you.”
8 So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell
his disciples. 9 Suddenly Jesus met them. “Greetings,” he said. They came to him, clasped his feet and worshiped him.
10 Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see me.”
By “brothers,” Jesus probably meant his disciples.
This showed that he had forgiven them, even after they had disowned and
deserted him. Their relationship would now be even stronger than
before.

Tomorrow's Reading for Matthew 28:11-20
11 As the women were on their way, some of the guards went into the city and told the leading priests what had happened. 12 A meeting with the elders was called, and they decided to give the soldiers a large bribe. 13 They told the soldiers, “You must say, ‘Jesus’ disciples came during the night while we were sleeping, and they stole his body.’ 14 If the governor hears about it, we’ll stand up for you so you won’t get in trouble.” 15 So
the guards accepted the bribe and said what they were told to say.
Their story spread widely among the Jews, and they still tell it today.
16 Then the eleven disciples left for Galilee, going to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. 17 When they saw him, they worshiped him—but some of them doubted!
18 Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. 19 Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations,[b] baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. 20 Teach
these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be
sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
