Rachel Workman:
19 One of you will
say to me: “Then why does God still blame us? For who is able to resist his
will?” 20 But
who are you, a human being, to talk back to God? “Shall what is formed say to
the one who formed it, ‘Why did you make me like this?’”[h]
21 Does
not the potter have the right to make out of the same lump of clay some pottery
for special purposes and some for common use?
Exactly. Who am I to question what God has already decided.
Exactly. Who am I to question what God has already decided.

John Burnett:
19 You
will say to me then, “Why does He still find fault? For who resists His
will?” 20 On
the contrary, who are you, O man, who answers back to God? The
thing molded will not say to the molder, “Why did you make me like this,” will
it? 21 Or
does not the potter have a right over the clay, to make from the same lump one
vessel [a]for honorable use and another [b]for common use? The
world has bought into the lie and there are preachers preaching that we are
little gods because we are made in the image of God. Our feeble minds
cannot fathom how powerful and awesome our God is so people imagine him to be
smaller than he is and themselves more powerful than we are. Only when we
put our trust in Him do we have any power and that is power over sin through
the help of the Holy Spirit.
