Rachel Workman:
Take a lesson from the ants, you lazybones.
Learn from their ways and become wise!
7 Though they have no prince
or governor or ruler to make them work,
8 they labor hard all summer,
gathering food for the winter.
9 But you, lazybones, how long will you sleep?
When will you wake up?
10 A little extra sleep, a little more slumber,
a little folding of the hands to rest—
11 then poverty will pounce on you like a bandit;
scarcity will attack you like an armed robber.
11 then poverty will pounce on you like a bandit;
scarcity will attack you like an armed robber.
I'm the ant. Able to complete my tasks
without someone standing over me telling me every step. The generation after me
seems to be unable to do anything without someone telling them or pushing them.
I do wonder how it will affect the upcoming work force.

John Burnett:
6 My
son, if you have put up security for your neighbor,
if you have shaken hands in pledge for a stranger,
2 you have been trapped by what you said,
ensnared by the words of your mouth.
3 So do this, my son, to free yourself,
since you have fallen into your neighbor’s hands:
Go—to the point of exhaustion—[a]
and give your neighbor no rest!
4 Allow no sleep to your eyes,
no slumber to your eyelids.
5 Free yourself, like a gazelle from the hand of the hunter,
like a bird from the snare of the fowler.
if you have shaken hands in pledge for a stranger,
2 you have been trapped by what you said,
ensnared by the words of your mouth.

4 Allow no sleep to your eyes,
no slumber to your eyelids.
5 Free yourself, like a gazelle from the hand of the hunter,
like a bird from the snare of the fowler.
6 Go
to the ant, you sluggard;
consider its ways and be wise!
7 It has no commander,
no overseer or ruler,
8 yet it stores its provisions in summer
and gathers its food at harvest.
consider its ways and be wise!
7 It has no commander,
no overseer or ruler,
8 yet it stores its provisions in summer
and gathers its food at harvest.
9 How
long will you lie there, you sluggard?
When will you get up from your sleep?
10 A little sleep, a little slumber,
a little folding of the hands to rest—
11 and poverty will come on you like a thief
and scarcity like an armed man. Solomon was warning about getting into debt and then not doing anything to get out of debt. Ants store up (save) for the future but the sluggard lives day to day and does nothing to better his situation. In fact, Solomon promises that the sluggard will have poverty will come upon them like a thief.

is great article about the Psalms 2 prophesy and has
nothing to do with the reading today. It gave me great comfort in knowing
that the things that are going on the world today were prophesied thousands of
years ago and that our Savior and King is returning soon. Have a great
weekend.

Monday’s reading for Luke 1:1-4
1 Many have undertaken to draw up an account of the things that have
been fulfilled[a] among us, 2 just as they were handed down to us by those who
from the first were eyewitnesses and servants of the word. 3 With this in mind, since I
myself have carefully investigated everything from the beginning, I too decided
to write an orderly account for you, most excellent Theophilus, 4 so that you may know the
certainty of the things you have been taught.
