Psalm 20:1-9

Rachel Workman: 1 In times of trouble, may the Lord answer your cry.
May the name of the God of Jacob keep you safe from all harm.
2 May he send you help from his sanctuary
    and strengthen you from Jerusalem.
3 May he remember all your gifts
and look favorably on your burnt offerings. Interlude

4 May he grant your heart’s desires
and make all your plans succeed.
5 May we shout for joy when we hear of your victory
and raise a victory banner in the name of our God.
May the Lord answer all your prayers.

6 Now I know that the Lord rescues his anointed king.
He will answer him from his holy heaven
and rescue him by his great power.
7 Some nations boast of their chariots and horses,
but we boast in the name of the Lord our God.
8 Those nations will fall down and collapse,
but we will rise up and stand firm.

9 Give victory to our king, O Lord!
    Answer our cry for help.

I don't have a comment today except that I love this prayer.

John Burnett:  20 May the Lord answer you in the day of trouble!
May the name of the God of Jacob set you securely on high!
May He send you help from the sanctuary
And support you from Zion!
May He remember all your meal offerings
And find your burnt offering [a]acceptable! [b]Selah.
May He grant you your heart’s desire
And fulfill all your [c]counsel!
5 [d]We will sing for joy over your [e]victory,
And in the name of our God we will set up our banners.
May the Lord fulfill all your petitions.
Now I know that the Lord saves His anointed;  Thank you Lord making me one of you anointed ones.
He will answer him from His holy heaven
With the [f]saving strength of His right hand.
Some [g]boast in chariots and some in horses,  Some boast in what they have done or given,
But we [h]will boast in the name of the Lord, our God.  Who sent His one and only Son to die on the cross and rise from the dead as a propitiation for my sins and He imputes Christ’s righteousness to my account.  My Savior sees me through Christ colored glasses.  The lenses are red but when he looks at me, I am white as snow.  I can boast in that and how great my God has been to me and my family.
They have bowed down and fallen,
But we have risen and stood upright.
9 [i]Save, O Lord;
May the King answer us in the day we call.
