The world and all its people belong to him.
2 For he laid the earth’s foundation on the seas
and built it on the ocean depths.
How easy it is to forget these words. We think we own things. In reality everything is owned by God. Our children, spouses, relationships, houses, cars and even our money is all owned by God. Why is it so hard for me to let go of something God already owns? My guess would be is that I'm confused about the ownership.
3 Who may climb the mountain of the Lord?
Who may stand in his holy place?
4 Only those whose hands and hearts are pure,
who do not worship idols
and never tell lies.
5 They will receive the Lord’s blessing
and have a right relationship with God their savior.
6 Such people may seek you
and worship in your presence, O God of Jacob.[a] Interlude
7 Open up, ancient gates!
Open up, ancient doors,
and let the King of glory enter.
8 Who is the King of glory?
The Lord, strong and mighty;
the Lord, invincible in battle.
9 Open up, ancient gates!
Open up, ancient doors,
and let the King of glory enter.
10 Who is the King of glory?
The Lord of Heaven’s Armies—
he is the King of glory.

John
Burnett: 24 The
earth is the Lord’s, and [a]all it contains,
The world, and those who dwell in it.
2 For He has founded it upon the seas
And established it upon the rivers.
3 Who may ascend into the hill of the Lord?
And who may stand in His holy place?
4 He who has clean hands and a pure heart,
Who has not lifted up his soul [b]to falsehood
And has not sworn deceitfully. These questions are still prevalent today and it should be a reminder of our sinful nature. The righteousness given from God when we repent and put our trust in Jesus brings salvation.
5 He shall receive a blessing from the Lord
And [c]righteousness from the God of his salvation.
6 [d]This is the generation of those who seek Him,
Who seek Your face—even Jacob. [e]Selah.

And be lifted up, O [f]ancient doors,
That the King of glory may come in!
8 Who is the King of glory?
The Lord strong and mighty,
The Lord mighty in battle.

And lift them up, O [g]ancient doors,
That the King of glory may come in!
10 Who is this King of glory?
The Lord of hosts,
He is the King of glory. Selah. Praise be to God who is strong and mighty. He has already won the victory and deserves all of our praise and glory.

Allen Michaels: 1 The earth is the Lord’s,
and everything in it.
The world and all its people belong to him.
The world and all its people belong to him.
Because “the earth is the Lord’s,”
all of us are stewards, or care takers. It’s up to the whole world to take care
of it. It is not for any one nation to own as this world, according to 1 John 2:17
will pass away.

and built it on the ocean depths.

How greatly God values honesty! Dishonesty comes easily,
especially when complete truthfulness could cost us something, make us
uncomfortable, or put us in an unfavorable light. Dishonest communication
hinders relationships. Without honesty, a relationship with God is impossible.
If we lie to others, we will begin to deceive ourselves. God cannot hear us or
speak to us if we are building a wall of self-deception.

Jesus Himself is the Kong of
glory. He is also identified as the Lord of hosts, or the commander of heavens
armies. Therefore, this psalm is not only a battle cry for the church; it also
looks forward to Christ’s future entry into the new Jerusalem to reign forever.
This is told in Revelation 10:11-21.)
