Rachel Workman: 18 As Jesus was saying this, the leader of a synagogue came and knelt
before him. “My daughter has just died,” he said, “but you can bring her
back to life again if you just come and lay your hand on her.” He didn't say if you can heal but you can heal her if you would just come. Jesus is always willing if we first have faith.
19 So Jesus and his disciples got up and went with him. 20 Just then a woman who had suffered for twelve years with constant bleeding came up behind him. She touched the fringe of his robe, 21 for she thought, “If I can just touch his robe, I will be healed.”
22 Jesus turned around, and when he saw her he said, “Daughter, be encouraged! Your faith has made you well.” And the woman was healed at that moment. I love this, be encouraged, your faith made you well. I'm seeing a pattern of faith having healing powers. Our faith can heal us as well. Maybe not like this but it can heal us from our sins.
23 When Jesus arrived at the official’s home, he saw the noisy crowd and heard the funeral music. 24 “Get out!” he told them. “The girl isn’t dead; she’s only asleep.” But the crowd laughed at him. 25 After the crowd was put outside, however, Jesus went in and took the girl by the hand, and she stood up! 26 The report of this miracle swept through the entire countryside. Can you imagine this??

John Burnett:
18 While He was saying these things to them, [a]a synagogue [b]official came and [c]bowed down before Him, and said, “My daughter has just died; but come and lay Your hand on her, and she will live.” 19 Jesus got up and began to follow him, and so did His disciples.
20 And a woman who had been suffering from a hemorrhage for twelve years, came up behind Him and touched the [d]fringe of His [e]cloak; 21 for she was saying [f]to herself, “If I only touch His garment, I will [g]get well.” 22 But Jesus turning and seeing her said, “Daughter, take courage; your faith has [h]made you well.” [i]At once the woman was [j]made well.
23 When Jesus came into the [k]official’s house, and saw the flute-players and the crowd in noisy disorder, 24 He said, “Leave; for the girl has not died, but is asleep.” And they began laughing at Him. 25 But when the crowd had been sent out, He entered and took her by the hand, and the girl [l]got up. Jesus
performed these miracles to authenticate who He said He was and use
those teachable moments to explain why He was here. His healing here in
Matthew is a foreshadowing of His healing us of our sins. Original sin
is the root cause of sickness and death and His death and resurrection
overcame sin and death and because of this we will be healed, receive
new glorified bodies and will no longer become sick or die. Come
quickly Lord Jesus.

Allen Michaels: 18 While he was saying this, a synagogue leader came and knelt before him and said,
“My daughter has just died. But come and put your hand on her, and she will live.”
19 Jesus got up and went with him, and so did his disciples.
20 Just then a woman who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years came up behind
him and touched the edge of his cloak. 21 She said to herself, “If I only touch his cloak, I will be healed.”
22 Jesus turned and saw her. “Take heart, daughter,” he said, “your faith has healed
you.” And the woman was healed at that moment. In
our times of desperation, we don’t have to worry about the correct way
to reach out to God. Like this woman, we can simply
reach out in faith. He will respond. Sometimes we are tempted to give
up on people or situations that have not changed for many years. God can
change what seems unchangeable, giving new purpose and hope.
