Rachel Workman: 33 “No one lights a lamp and then
hides it or puts it under a basket.[k]
Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where its light can be seen by all who
enter the house.
34 “Your eye is like a lamp that
provides light for your body. When your eye is healthy, your whole body is
filled with light. But when it is unhealthy, your body is filled with darkness. 35 Make sure that the light you think you have
is not actually darkness. 36 If you are filled with light, with no dark
corners, then your whole life will be radiant, as though a floodlight were
filling you with light.”Funny how everyone jumps on the first waves of healthy and unhealthy fads. Without any thought to what's healthy for their soul. We need to be careful about what we think, what we know, and what is true. Often time Satan comes disguised as something we think is good for us.

John
Burnett: 33 “No one lights a lamp and then hides
it or puts it under a basket.[k]
Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where its light can be seen by all who
enter the house. Many Christians hide their
Christianity under a basket. If we don’t show those around us that we are
Christians and they don’t know that we are Christians we run the risk of being
ashamed of Jesus Christ. Mark 8:38 below shows the consequences for being ashamed of
Jesus Christ.
Mark 8:38
38 For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words in this
adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will also be ashamed of
him when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels.”
34 “Your eye is like a lamp that provides
light for your body. When your eye is healthy, your whole body is filled with
light. But when it is unhealthy, your body is filled with darkness. 35 Make
sure that the light you think you have is not actually darkness. 36 If
you are filled with light, with no dark corners, then your whole life will be
radiant, as though a floodlight were filling you with light.” Jesus was also called the light and if we have Jesus in our
life there shouldn’t be any dark corners.

Tomorrow’s reading for Luke 11:37-42
37 As Jesus was speaking, one of the Pharisees invited him home for a
meal. So he went in and took his place at the table.[l] 38 His host was amazed to see that he sat down to
eat without first performing the hand-washing ceremony required by Jewish
custom. 39 Then
the Lord said to him, “You Pharisees are so careful to
clean the outside of the cup and the dish, but inside you are filthy—full of
greed and wickedness! 40 Fools! Didn’t God make the
inside as well as the outside? 41 So clean the inside by
giving gifts to the poor, and you will be clean all over.
42 “What sorrow awaits you Pharisees! For you are careful to tithe
even the tiniest income from your herb gardens,[m] but you ignore justice and the love of God.
You should tithe, yes, but do not neglect the more important things.
